  1. 2016-2019: Volkswagen Foundation (VolkswagenStiftung) grant. Joint with Burkhard Morgensternfrom the University of Göttingen . Grant title: Maximum-Likelihood approach to Alignment-free Phylogeny Reconstruction. 246,000 EURO for three years (120,000 EURO for the Israeli partner).

  2. 2016: Bat-Sheva de Rothschild Fund fellowship (by The Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities) . Fellowship for hosting : Gene Myers as a visitor scientist in the 18th Israeli Bioinformatic Symposium at the University of Haifa . $5,000.

  3. 2014-2017: Israel Science Foundation (ISF) grant. Grant title: Tracing Prokaryotic Evolution via Ordered Orthology. $180,000 for three years.

  4. Summer 2015 The prestigious IBM student research summer fellowship for Eliran  at Laxmi Parida’s computational genomics group at IBM 

  5. 2014-2018 The prestigious Lev Zion fellowship was awarded to Eliran.

  6. 2010-2013: Israel Science Foundation (ISF) grant. Grant title: Using computational tools for piecing together the tree of life. $150,000 for three years.

  7. 2010-2012: U.S.-Israel Binational Science Foundation (BSF) grant. Joint with Eugene Koonin from the NCBI, NIH. Grant title: Analytical framework for a comprehensive analysis of the prokaryotic mobilome. $75,000 for two years for the Israeli partner.

  8. 2008-2010: Outstanding Senior Young Scientist Fellowship. From the Yeshaya Horowitz association through Complexity Sciences Center. $150,000 for three years.

  9. 2006-2007: Postdoc Fellowship. From the U. Ottawa, Dept. of Math. Two years fellowship, CA$33,000 per annum. Declined due to return to Israel.

  10. 2005-2006: Postdoc Fellowship NSF Postdoctoral scholarship, NSF CCR-0105533, $56,000 per annum.

  11. 2004-2005: Postdoc Fellowship NIH Postdoctoral scholarship, NIH R01:HG236, $56,000 per annum.

  12. 2002-2004: Outstanding Ph.D. student Fellowship. From the Yeshaya Horowitz association throughComplexity Sciences Center. Three years $19,000 per annum.
